Rae seduces her viewer into a world of ongoing divergence and precariousness and the equilibrium that exists within the pauses of each image she captures. She seizes the moments that exist only to punctuate human existence and to find poetic meaning in everyday life. Her photographs respond directly to her surrounding environments and everyday experiences from her perspective. By muted aesthetics and ambiguous models, she approaches her subjects in a multilayered manner and involves the viewers in ways that are somewhat physical. With a conceptual approach, she creates intense personal moments masterfully crafted by rules and omissions, acceptances and refusals, luring the viewer around and around in circles. Her work sometimes tends to radiate a cold air and a suppressed passion however; other works of hers emits the most genuine warmth. While disconcerting beauty emerges the intrinsic visual insentience of the exhibitions, further complicates the reception of their various layers of meaning.
